The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this John Elkan Railway Pocket Watch to the 1920s.
The watch measures 57mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop so it is a little larger than the standard 50mm watches, and it is a good chunky piece. The case is nickel and it is in very nice condition. The bezel and case back are screw-on which is a nice sign of quality.

The bevelled watch glass is in lovely condition.
The white dial is signed John Elkan Ltd, London, “Railway”. John Elkan was a retail jeweller who specialised in jewellery, gold and silver goods, toys and games. The dial is in lovely condition and has original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
