Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the reign of King George V from 1910 to 1936, silver candlesticks from this era frequently drew design inspiration from 18th-century Georgian forms, featuring octagonal facets, baluster stems, and stepped bases.

These items were typically crafted from solid sterling silver with standard British hallmarks or constructed as silver plate over a loaded core to provide weight and stability.

Authentic pieces carry official British hallmarks stamped on the base rim or nozzle, including the lion passant for sterling silver, a town mark, a makers mark, and a date letter corresponding to the 19101936 range.

Place a symmetrical pair on a contemporary dining table, sideboard, or mantelpiece to create a balanced focal point that reflects ambient light and provides metallic contrast against modern surfaces.

Dust regularly with a soft microfibre cloth and polish using a non-abrasive silver compound to remove oxidisation, while avoiding harsh scraping tools when removing wax residue.
