Jane Short Antiques has dated this Victorian Venetian Oil Painting to the 19th Century.
It is clear to see that Moltino was inspired by J.M.W. Turner and the result is rather fabulous.

It has been lightly cleaned and the gilded frame restored. The canvas has been attached to a board which was likely done by the artist himself. The canvas measures 89cm X 59cm and framed it measures 107cm X 72cm.

Francis Moltino (1818–1874), was known for atmospheric oil paintings and panoramic views of Venetian canals, gondolas, and historic Italian landmarks Moltino lived and worked in London for many years but painted luminous, warm-toned vedute (scenic cityscapes) of Venice. His style shows clearly his inspiration from J. M. W. Turner, focusing on light, water reflections, and bustling maritime activity.

He displayed his artwork at major London institutions, including the Royal Academy (between 1848 and 1855), the British Institution, and the Royal Society of British Artists.
Alongside his famous scenes of the Grand Canal, the Dogana, and Santa Maria della Salute, he also painted scenes of the River Thames in London and coastal marine views.
