Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Silverware produced during the reign of King George V (19101936) often blends traditional Georgian forms with clean, restrained modern lines. Pieces frequently feature smooth geometric shapes, stepped bases, and minimalist handles reflective of early Art Deco influences.

British sterling silver from this era was assayed to guarantee a purity of 925 parts per thousand silver. Silversmiths formed vessels using raising techniques or casting, with handles and pedestal feet soldered to the body before hand-polishing and striking official hallmark stamps.

Authentic pieces carry a set of official British hallmarks stamped into the silver. These typically include the crown mark for the Sheffield assay office, the lion passant for sterling silver, a specific date letter representing 1934, and the makers initials.

Antique silver mugs make functional decorative accents when placed on sideboard tops, open shelving, or home bars. They can serve as catch-alls, pencil holders on desks, or small floral vases to introduce reflective metallic tones into a space.

Clean silver gently using a soft cloth and a specialized silver polish, avoiding abrasive cleaners that can wear down surface details. Regular dusting and occasional light polishing prevent excessive tarnish caused by environmental oxidisation.
