Also Antique Furniture has dated this Mahogany Breakfront Glazed Bookcase to the Victorian era.
The upper frieze is finely decorated with reeded mouldings and satinwood lattice line inlay above three glazed doors fitted with elegant Gothic arched astragals. The breakfront form provides pleasing architectural proportions while offering generous display and storage space across a series of fixed shelves.

Raised on shaped bracket feet and retaining a rich mahogany colour and attractive patina, the bookcase is supplied with a working key.
A practical and decorative antique bookcase, equally suited to displaying books, ceramics or collections in both traditional and contemporary interiors.

CONDITION
The bookcase is in good antique condition, displaying the expected marks, knocks and scratches associated with age and use. It retains a rich colour and attractive overall patina.

The working key is present. Two panes of glass are missing, as shown in the photographs. There is minor wear consistent with age, but the cabinet remains structurally sound and presents very well overall.

As with all antique and vintage furniture, this piece has been used and enjoyed over many years and should be expected to show signs of age and use. We aim to describe any significant faults, repairs or alterations as accurately and honestly as possible.
