Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian serpentine sideboard is a dining room storage piece originating in the late 18th century, defined by its undulating, S-curved front profile, multi-drawer arrangement, and classical proportions.

These sideboards were primarily crafted from solid mahogany and mahogany veneers, frequently decorated with satinwood or boxwood stringing inlays and fitted with cast brass handles.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail joinery, hand-planed back panels, square tapered legs often finishing in spade feet, and natural patination consistent with timber aged over two centuries.

Position the piece against a focal wall in a dining room, hallway, or living space, balancing its traditional mahogany tones with contemporary table lamps, a large modern mirror, or minimalist ceramics.

Dust regularly using a dry, lint-free microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year, keeping the item away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent veneer lifting.
