Description

A handsome 19th century mahogany chest of drawers, featuring two short drawers over three long graduating drawers, all fitted with the original turned wooden knobs and key escutcheons. The well-figured mahogany drawer fronts are complemented by a solid mahogany top with rounded corners and a simple moulded edge, while the chest stands on a plain plinth base. Displaying a rich warm colour and an attractive mellow patina. A lovely example.

CONDITION REPORT:

Good overall condition, solid and sturdy throughout. Age-related surface wear including marks, scratches, knocks and fading consistent with age and use. There are some minor splits to the side panels, together with historic stains and wear to the top. The drawers run smoothly and the chest presents well overall with a pleasing antique character.
