Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the reign of King Edward VII between 1901 and 1910, Edwardian silver cutlery frequently features delicate foliage motifs, scrollwork engraving, and lighter, more refined forms than Victorian silver.

Butter knives were typically forged from solid sterling silver or silver plate, sometimes featuring bone, mother-of-pearl, or ivory handles attached to a metal blade.

Authentic British sterling silver bears official assay office hallmarks, including the lion passant mark for silver purity, a makers mark, a town symbol, and a date letter corresponding to the specific year of production.

Historic silver cutlery can be paired with modern ceramic tableware, linen napkins, and minimalist glassware to add texture and historical detail to modern dining tables.

Sterling silver should be washed by hand in warm soapy water, dried immediately with a soft cloth, and occasionally polished with a non-abrasive silver cream to remove tarnish.
