Antique Georgian Oak Dresser Base Sideboard

Description

A handsome antique Georgian oak dresser base sideboard, constructed from solid oak. It features a plank top above an attractive arrangement of drawers, flanked by two fielded panel cupboard doors enclosing generous shelved storage. The dresser stands on a shaped bracket plinth and retains a lovely warm colour and rich patina. A lovely example.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with signs of age and use. There is surface wear including age-related marks, scratches, knocks and some historic repairs consistent with its age. The top displays expected wear and historic shrinkage between the boards. There is evidence of historic woodworm, long inactive and treated as a precaution. There are small losses and wear to the bracket feet, together with some historic alterations to the interior, including later shelving and replacement backboards in places. The drawers run well, the cupboards close as they should and the piece is solid and sturdy overall.
