Broad mercury action thermometer set to the centre with large reservoir, which makes the thermometer easily read. Protective brass guard to the reservoir and securing plates to the top and bottom. Bears the makers name and address, Moritz Pillischer, 88 New Bond St, London, trading at this address from 1850-1888. He was noted as exhibiting at the Great Exhibition at Crystal Palace in 1851.
