Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Five stone rings gained immense popularity during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, often given as tokens of affection. The layout represents themes of enduring love, with five graduated stones spanning the top of the finger.

Historical examples are commonly set in 15ct or 18ct yellow gold to contrast with the milky or iridescent qualities of natural opal cabochons. The mounts often feature carved scrollwork or carved claw settings.

Authentic period pieces typically display hand-carved galleries, claw or gypsy settings, and solid yellow gold mounts showing historical hallmarks. Natural opals display irregular flashes of color rather than uniform synthetic patterns.

A five stone opal ring can be worn as a standalone statement piece on the index or middle finger, or stacked alongside understated gold bands to complement modern tailored or casual wear.

Opals are relatively delicate gemstones containing water content, requiring protection from extreme heat, chemical contact, and hard impacts. Clean gently using a soft, dry cloth rather than harsh liquid immersion or ultrasonic cleaners.
