8 day French movement with platform escapement, which is sat behind an immaculate porcelain dial with Arabic numerals and decorative blued steel hands. Glazed quarter plate bevelled edge glass sat over the dial, which is mounted in the silver front. The rear door opening by catch release to reveal an original green velvet lined interior. The movement with matching silver dust cover, which can be removed to access the movement for winding and time keeping adjustments. Bears the makers mark for Birmingham silversmiths and noted manufacturers of travelling and novelty clocks Douglas Clock Co Ltd.
