Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Rococo Revival furniture, prominent from the mid-to-late 19th century, reinterpreted 18th-century French Rococo design elements. Key features include asymmetrical C-scrolls, S-scrolls, shell carvings, cabriole legs, and elaborate floral motifs executed in dark hardwoods.

These pieces were typically carved from dense hardwoods such as mahogany, walnut, or rosewood. Internal frames utilised timber joinery, while seats incorporated coil springs, horsehair padding, woven webbing, and decorative fabric coverings with woven trim.

Authentic period examples exhibit hand-carved detail along the frieze and knees, timber construction with natural aging, hand-cut mortise and tenon joinery, and an X-form or H-form stretcher frame for structural reinforcement.

Position a carved mahogany stool at the foot of a bed, beneath a console table, or within an alcove to serve as occasional seating. Neutral-toned upholstery bridges the gap between historical woodwork and contemporary colour palettes.

Dust timber carved surfaces regularly with a soft cloth and apply beeswax periodically along the grain. Keep upholstery away from direct sunlight to prevent fabric fading, and clean textiles using gentle, professional cleaning methods.
