Wife of 1st Baronet Sir William McCormac (born Belfast). Physician to Queen Victoria among other important rolls.

Katherines was one of eight children. Her father John Charters was a well known Belfast mill owner and philanthropist.

Pastel, Indistincly signed to back. Possibly by Lawrence? Set in a large Irish gilt wood frame with shell shaped spangles to each corner On the reverse is written, Given as a mark of respect portrait of Mrs Katherine McCormac, Presented to Sir William McCormac
