The sitter is wearing a blue dress with white lace trim and is clasping flowers. The work is beautifully done, most notably the capturing of the sitter''s expression.
The work is housed in a later gilt glazed oval frame. There are some small signs of wear to the frame, including a very small split to the bottom which does not affect stability nor aesthetic but is mentioned for completeness. The whole generally displays very well indeed.
Remnants of handwritten white number verso, now illegible.
