Description

Mid-19th century toilet mirror in mahogany with turned supports and acorn finials to the top. The mirror retains its original ebonised slip, a pleasing decorative detail that contrasts well with the mahogany. The mirror plate is in good condition. The base is veneered in attractive flame mahogany and stands on bun feet. A good quality example with rich colour and patina.

Our lighting has all been lovingly restored, tested and earthed but will need to be installed by a qualified electrician. All of our furniture has been through our antique restoration workshop.

A toilet mirror, also known as a dressing glass, is a free-standing mirror designed to sit on a chest of drawers or dressing table. Popular throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, these mirrors feature an adjustable glass frame suspended between two turned upright supports attached to a base.
