Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Designed in 1915 by Johan Rohde for Georg Jensen, the Acorn pattern features understated Art Deco motifs combined with organic forms inspired by Scandinavian nature. It became one of the most recognized post-industrial silver designs produced throughout the twentieth century.

Mid-century Danish silver tableware was predominantly cast or hand-hammered using sterling silver (925 parts per 1000 purity). Items such as sugar tongs often utilized a central pivot hinge or flexible bow structure with hand-finished decorative motifs at the handle ends.

Authentic pieces carry stamped hallmarks, including the official Georg Jensen dotted oval mark, the standard 925S purity stamp, and occasionally secondary date codes or designer initials denoting the specific production era.

Silver sugar tongs are arranged alongside vintage tea trays, placed on a marble sideboard top, or displayed inside modern glass cabinets paired with contemporary ceramic coffee services.

Sterling silver should be wiped with a soft cotton cloth and cleaned gently using specialist non-abrasive silver polish to clear oxidisation. Store in anti-tarnish fabric pouches away from direct sunlight, rubber, and high humidity.
