Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sugar tongs are specialised serving utensils designed to hygienically lift and drop individual sugar cubes or refined sugar pieces into teacups and coffee cups during traditional beverage service.

Sterling silver sugar tongs are crafted from a metallic alloy containing 92.5 percent pure silver combined with copper for structural rigidity, featuring either spring-hinged arms or scissor-style pivot joints.

Authentic pieces typically feature official silver purity hallmarks, such as 925S or STERLING, along with specific makers marks, pattern names, and maker stamps located on the inner arms or central pivot.

Incorporate silver sugar tongs into formal tea trays, place them alongside sugar bowls on sideboards, or display them inside glass-fronted cabinets as part of a silver flatware arrangement.

Clean silver sugar tongs using a non-abrasive silver polish applied with a soft microfibre cloth, ensuring immediate drying after washing in warm soapy water to prevent tarnish and oxidisation.
