Rare Black Forest Gnome Whip Hook, C.1880

A superb 19th century black forest wood hand carved whip hook in the form of a gnome. Circa. 1880.
 
The gnome has a carved floppy hat and jacket and is sat upon a stump with his legs crossed as he is pulling on his ''boots'', which are the horn hooks. Small metal loop verso for hanging.
 
The hook is in an excellent condition throughout.
