George II Walnut Chest on Chest

A superb George II figured walnut chest on chest with original brassware in outstanding original unaltered condition c.1740. The chest top with moulded cornice is sat over a two over three graduated drawers upper chest section. Each drawer with figured book matched veneers, crossbanded and cockbead edges. Moulded waist to the centre with a matching three graduate drawer base section. Moulded plinth to the base with original bracket feet below; the sides with matching figured veneers and crossbanded edges. Original high quality brass fittings with fretted backplate and matching lock escutcheons. Superbly made throughout with quality figured oak drawer linings and original steel locks. Presented in excellent original unrestored condition with a rich colour and patina. Measurements quoted are at the widest and deepest points.
