Unusual Victorian Silver Mounted Uranium Glass Scent Bottle by Charles May, Birmingham 1900

Description

This gorgeous silver and green uranium glass scent bottle is dated Birmingham 1900 and was made by the scent bottle specialist Charles May. The vivid green discoidal glass body mounted with a fully hallmarked hinged silver lid embossed with foliate scrolls. The neck fitted with a clear glass stopper. Please note there is an air bubble in the glass which happened during manufacture, the glass is not damaged.

Hallmarks:

C.M for Charles May.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "a" for 1900.

Dimensions:

Height: 5cm / 2 inches.

Diameter: 4cm / 1.5 inches.

Depth: 1.5cm / 0.6 inches.

Condition:

Very good.

Silver lid good condition, a little askew.

Glass body in very good condition.
