Art Deco 18ct Gold Ruby and Diamond Ring

1920 - 1940
Description

Beautiful Art Deco 18ct Gold Ruby and Diamond Ring. Very pretty daisy ring consisting of 8 excellent coloured pink red rubies 2mm x 2mm. At the centre is a 4mm diameter bright brilliant cut diamond 0.20ct with a slight yellow tint to it. The total face of the Ring measures 10mm x 10mm. Would make a wonderful classic ruby engagement ring or pretty dress ring. Ring is in overall superb condition, the stones have no chips and the shank is strong. Shank is hallmarked for 18ct gold and it most certainly dates to the late Art Deco era, probably the 1940s or 50s. This ring is size UK i and US 4 3/4 which is quite small but could be resized for a small fee. Weight 2.8g

Photographs are ZOOMED with x5 magnification. SO Please Check Sizes And Weights before purchasing as JEWELLERY IMAGES ARE ENLARGED!! Dark areas are reflections on the gold.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery, originating in the 1920s and 1930s, is defined by geometric shapes, bold colour contrasts, and symmetrical arrangements of gemstones, often set in platinum or high-carat gold.

Pieces from this era typically feature 18ct yellow gold or platinum settings, incorporating natural precious gemstones such as rubies, sapphires, and diamonds held in claw or bezel mountings.

Authentic pieces display period-correct hallmark stamps, hand-finished settings, precise millgrain edges, and characteristic cut profiles such as old European or transitional cut diamonds.

A classic gemstone cluster ring functions as a focal statement piece, paired effectively with clean tailoring, minimal metal bands, or complementary gemstone accessories.

Clean the piece using warm water, mild detergent, and a soft-bristled brush, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or ultrasonic baths that could damage stone settings or natural inclusions.
