Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Parian porcelain is a form of unglazed biscuit porcelain developed in England during the 1840s. Named after Paros, the Aegean island renowned for its white marble, the material was designed to enable mass production of detailed marble-like classical sculptures.

Parian porcelain contains a higher proportion of feldspar than standard hard-paste porcelain, which results in a vitrified composition with a soft sheen. It is liquid slip-cast into plaster moulds and fired at high temperatures without a surface glaze.

Authentic 19th-century pieces display fine casting detail, a smooth matte finish resembling marble, and subtle translucency under lighting. Look for impressed maker marks or numbers on the underside of the base, as well as seam lines from multi-part moulding.

Classical figural sculptures function well as architectural accents on console tables, bookcases, or mantelpieces. The monochrome white finish allows them to blend easily into both modern minimalist schemes and traditional interiors.

Because unglazed ceramic is porous and attracts surface dust, cleaning should be done using a soft dry brush or compressed air. For deeper cleaning, mild soapy water applied gently with a cotton swab can remove grime without soaking the body.
