Salisbury Antiques Centre has dated this Victorian Mahogany Pedestal Desk to the 1870s.
The rectangular top is inset with a green gilt-tooled leather writing surface above an arrangement of nine drawers, comprising three frieze drawers over twin pedestals, each fitted with three graduating drawers retaining their original turned mahogany knob handles. The locks are stamped Maple & Co., confirming the maker and adding to the desk's desirability and provenance.
The desk is raised on plinth bases with rounded corners and elegant proportions, creating a practical and impressive piece of Victorian office furniture.

Offering generous storage and a large working surface, this desk would make an excellent addition to a study, library, office or country house interior.
Presented in good antique condition with a rich patina developed over many years of use. The leather writing surface shows expected wear and character consistent with age and use.
A handsome and increasingly sought-after Victorian desk by one of England's most celebrated furniture makers.
