Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Corner chairs, also known as roundabout chairs, feature a diagonal orientation designed to sit neatly into room corners or alongside writing desks. Originating in the early 18th century during the Baroque and Georgian eras, they were crafted to accommodate full-skirted coats and dresses while maximizing floor space.

Georgian Revival corner chairs were typically constructed from high-grade hardwoods such as mahogany or walnut, often featuring carved pierced splats, turned stretchers, and drop-in seats upholstered in velvet, tapestry, or woven damask fabrics.

Authentic Georgian Revival pieces from the late 19th and early 20th centuries display hand-finished joinery, detailed carving on the splats and knees, traditional mortise-and-tenon construction, and natural wear patterns on lower stretchers and armrests.

An antique corner chair works effectively as an accent piece in a bedroom corner, paired with a writing desk, or positioned in a hallway to add architectural interest and historic warmth without overwhelming contemporary layout proportions.

Maintain timber elements by dusting regularly with a microfibre cloth and applying natural beeswax polish along the grain annually. Protect upholstered seats from direct sunlight and clean fabric with a gentle, soft-bristled brush or specialist upholstery attachment.
