Rupert Landen Antiques has dated this Brass Rise Fall Chandelier to the Edwardian era.
The weights are finished with decorative brass finials and flowers. The central column is decorated with embossed leaf decoration, while the arms are ornamented with scrolls, leaves and floral motifs. A matching decorative weight to the base echoes the counterweights, creating a balanced design. Originally a gas fitting, this chandelier has been sympathetically converted to electricity. The rise and fall mechanism operates, although the current shades are heavier than the originals and the fitting should be secured at the desired height. Height adjusts from approximately 135 cm at its shortest to 180 cm when fully lowered. Width is measured across the outside edges of the glass shades 80cm. Fitted with three B22 (large bayonet) bulb holders.
