An 18th-century Georgian oak dresser base is a long, low storage cabinet originally designed for serving food and storing household items in traditional British properties. Characterised by a row of drawers above elevated legs, it served as the lower section of a kitchen dresser or as a standalone side table.

These items were predominantly constructed from solid native oak, featuring hand-dovetailed drawer joints, oak drawer linings, and mortise and tenon frame joinery secured with wooden pegs. The drawers were frequently finished with cast or pierced brass drop handles and decorative escutcheons.
