Lincoln Restorations has dated this Georgian Mahogany Pembroke Table to the Georgian era.
An Elegant solid Mahogany Pembroke table with fitted Flatware Drawer.
This exceptional George III to Regency period Mahogany Pembroke table, dating from circa 1810, balances superb functionality with the restrained elegance characteristic of early 19th-century English cabinetmaking.
When extended, the top presents a uniform, flat surface, which is true and free from any major warping, bordered by a crisp, hand-cut reeded edge. The elegant proportions and versatile design make it an ideal choice for use as an occasional dining table, a sophisticated side table, or a spacious writing desk.

The front of the table houses a beautifully constructed full-depth drawer, revealing a rare and highly desirable fitted interior. The drawer dividers form distinct compartments meticulously lined in a high-quality green baize, perfectly conceived for the storage of fine silverware, flatware, or writing implements. Indicative of exceptional workshop standards, the drawer sides are crafted from solid fruitwood, exhibiting exceptionally fine, hand-cut dovetail joints that speak to the mastery of the period's craftsmen. The drawer front retains its original turned brass knobs and houses its original working warded lock, which functions smoothly with its accompanying original steel key. To maintain visual symmetry when positioned in the centre of a room, the reverse side of the table features a finely executed dummy drawer, perfectly matching the front profile with identical turned brass knobs.

The table is supported by four elegantly turned and tapered legs, displaying delicate ring turning and reed detailing that leads down to neat peg feet. It stands remarkably solid and firm, boasting excellent structural integrity with no loose joints, historic breaks, or unstable repairs. The Mahogany displays its original French polished finish with a wonderful deep, warm colour and a rich, authentic patina that has developed naturally over more than two centuries. This is a remarkably genuine, versatile piece of period furniture that speaks of quiet quality and remains ready for immediate use in a contemporary or traditional interior. Condition and Provenance As an antique, this table does show lots of signs of age and use. While in fantastic condition, expect marks, dents and scratches consistent with historical pieces.
