This vintage padlock ring is modelled in 9ct Gold. This unusual ring features a shiny band and a more recent heart padlock drop. The ring comes complete with a full set of hallmarks, dating the ring to Birmingham, 1930.

Padlocks first became popular during the Victorian period. They were worn by women whose significant others were leaving for an extended period. The padlock was significant because it was locked onto the woman, and only her beloved had the key—he would then open it upon his return.

Mainly popular on bracelets, padlock rings are much more scarce and collectable.
