Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An Edwardian silver card case is a pocket-sized container produced during the reign of King Edward VII (19011910), designed to store calling or visiting cards, which were an essential element of social etiquette.

These cases were typically constructed from sterling silver (925 purity) and frequently featured interior silver-gilt washes to prevent tarnishing and protect paper contents from chemical reaction with oxidising metals.

Authenticity is verified by checking British hallmarks, which include a makers mark, purity mark (such as the lion passant for sterling silver), assay office mark, and a specific date letter representing the year of manufacture.

Small silver cases can be displayed flat or propped on an office desk, styled on an entryway console tray for paperclips or business cards, or featured inside a glass display cabinet.

Silver pieces should be dusted regularly with a soft microfiber cloth and gently polished using a non-abrasive silver polishing cloth to maintain lustre without eroding fine engraved details or hallmarks.
