Oak Coffer with Burr Elm Panels C.1790

Description

Late 18th.c. oak coffer with unusual burr elm panels. Flat (rather than panelled) solid oak top with a moulded edge. Lockable and lifting on hinges to reveal useful storage space inside with a small separate section to the left hand side. With two drawers in the base. Rare highly figured burr elm veneered panels and drawer fronts with mahogany surround. Original brass handles and escutcheons. Oak panelled sides and rear. Very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
