Regency Mahogany Secretaire Chest

A Regency figured mahogany four drawer secretaire chest with fitted interior c.1820. Solid figured mahogany construction with kingwood crossbanded top and decorative turned trim to the edge. The top sat over four graduated drawers, each with fruitwood stringing, cockbeaded edges and original turned knobs. The top drawer opening to reveal a fitted secretaire, with fall front and tooled leather writing surface. The inside of the secretaire section with fitted drawers, each with amboyna veneers, pigeon holes below and cupboard to the centre with Sheraton inlaid shell. The base with a moulded edge and bracket feet below, plus the sides of the chest with figured timber. Presented in immaculate condition with a rich colour and polish.
