Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George IV bracket clock is a spring-driven portable table clock produced during the reign of King George IV (18201830), typically housed in a mahogany or rosewood case designed to rest on a matching wall bracket or table surface.

These clocks were constructed using dense hardwoods such as mahogany and oak, decorated with ebony or brass stringing, and fitted with cast brass feet, brass handles, glass apertures, and brass movement plates.

Authentic pieces feature original hand-cut mechanical movements, period maker signatures on the dial or movement, hand-engraved backplates, and original cast brass fittings showing natural signs of wear.

Position the clock as a focal element on a fireplace mantelpiece, console table, or library shelf, pairing it with neutral walls and clean-lined architectural elements to create visual contrast.

The wooden casing should be dusted regularly with a soft cloth, waxed occasionally with natural beeswax, kept away from direct heat sources, and the mechanical movement should be serviced by a professional horologist every three to five years.
