We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery, prominent from 1919 to 1939, is characterised by linear symmetry, bold geometric patterns, and contrasting gemstone combinations. Influenced by modern architecture and cubism, designs frequently utilised platinum mountings decorated with fine milgrain borders and diamond frames to highlight coloured central gemstones.

Art Deco rings were predominantly crafted using platinum, valued for its strength and ability to support delicate filigree and milgrain detailing. Primary central stones such as sapphires, emeralds, and rubies were typically encircled by brilliant or single-cut diamonds set in openwork geometric mounts.

Authentic Art Deco rings feature hand-applied milgrain edging, geometric platinum mountings, and hand-cut diamonds rather than modern round brilliant cuts. Genuine period pieces display clean structural symmetry, period hallmarks, and subtle signs of wear on the underside gallery and band.

Art Deco dress rings serve as a focal point when worn individually on the right hand or ring finger. Their structured architectural lines pair effectively with both contemporary tailored attire and vintage formal wear, complementing silver or white gold modern accessories.

To preserve an antique ring, clean it gently using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from behind the stone settings. Store the item separately in a fabric-lined box to prevent harder gemstones from scratching the platinum or surrounding diamonds, and avoid contact with harsh cleaning chemicals.
