Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Wine tables initially gained popularity during the eighteenth century in Britain as small, portable stands designed to hold glasses and decanters near seating areas. By the Edwardian era, these pieces were widely produced as decorative occasional tables inspired by earlier Georgian and Regency designs.

Edwardian examples are predominantly constructed from dense timber such as mahogany, often featuring turned central support shafts, dished or tray-moulded tops, and tripod or triform bases joined with hand-cut dowels or screws.

Authentic pieces from circa 1900 to 1910 generally show natural timber oxidation beneath the finish, hand-turned elements with minor asymmetry, authentic wear around the feet, and classic proportioning characteristic of Neo-Georgian revival design.

A wine table functions as a compact side table positioned adjacent to a reading chair or sofa end. Its slim profile allows placement in tight alcoves or corners where larger furniture would obstruct movement.

Regularly dust the surface using a dry microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year. Keep the timber away from direct heat sources and protect the French polish or varnish from liquid spills.
