The seat too, is typically Elm, with plenty of width, so it doesn’t pinch like some later chairs do – ensuring it’s very comfortable. The legs, curvy, shaped uprights to the back and top rail are all in Beach with lovely patination.

We have carefully cleaned and revived the polished surfaces, preserving it’s original finish and re-waxing the piece to a lovely warm glow.

It’s a very old chair, so you’d expect to see the odd repair, with marks of use here and there but it is a lovely comfortable homely piece, you can see yourself sitting in by a roaring fire with a nice glass of ale and a book!
