Superb Victorian Japanned Work Table

A superb quality Victorian japanned work table with mother of pearl inlaid top and gilt decoration c.1875. The octagonal trumpet shaped work box section with cushion top lid sat over a flared frilled edge apron; tapering octagonal base section running to a three way tripod foot with bun feet below. Wonderful quality to the original Japanned finish, which includes floral design mother of pearl inlay, hand painted and gilded surface. The apron, base section and foot also with hand painted gilt decoration, which is in superb condition. Hinged lid opening to reveal an original fitted interior with silvered finish and pink silk topped divisions, which are to hold the needlework tools and provisions. The entire section removes to access a storage compartment below. A stylish statement piece presented in superb original condition. Keep up to date via Instagram - sturmansantiques. Through our trusted international shippers we will source the most competitive quote for delivery to your door. All items are wrapped and packed by the specialist shippers.

We are happy to make initial arrangements for worldwide shipments on your behalf. However, please note that the shipping payment is made by you the customer directly with the shippers.
