London City Antiques has dated this William IV Dining Table to the 19th Century.
Unlike extending or drop leaf tables this piece retains its original solid one piece top giving it a greater sense of permanence and quality.

The top tilts to a vertical position for storage, a practical feature that allowed these tables to be moved aside when not in use making them ideal for dining rooms and reception spaces where flexibility was required.

The base is of outstanding form with a substantial turned column leading to a shaped quadripartite platform and beautifully carved lobed feet. This strong architectural design is typical of the William IV period combining confident proportions with restrained decoration.

A refined and highly usable dining table offering both decorative impact and practical function, equally suited to a classic or contemporary interior.
Condition report
Very good antique condition with age related wear, marks and surface patina in keeping with age and use. Nicely polished and well presented. The tilt mechanism works as it should and the table is solid and ready for use.
