Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A bow-front table features a convex curved front facade, a design popularized during the late Georgian and Regency periods to add architectural interest and save space along walls.

Tables from the 19th century were typically constructed using solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over oak or pine casings, with hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers and hand-turned legs.

Authentic pieces display signs of age such as hand-cut drawer dovetails, natural shrinkage or minor unevenness in timber linings, original turned wooden knobs, and historical oxidisation on unfinished wood underside areas.

Position the piece in an entryway or hallway beneath a contemporary mirror, or utilize it as an occasional vanity desk in a bedroom paired with minimalist ceramic lighting.

Maintain the surface by dusting with a soft dry cloth and applying high-grade beeswax polish once or twice a year, keeping the wood away from direct heat sources and sunlight.
