Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco diamond rings are defined by geometric symmetry, architectural lines, and detailed metalwork such as filigree and milgrain. Produced primarily between the 1920s and 1940s, these pieces often feature central old cut diamonds set within platinum or white gold openwork mounts.

Jewellers during the Art Deco era predominantly utilised platinum and white gold to create durable, intricate settings. Central stones were typically old European cut or transit-cut diamonds, often accented by smaller pave-set diamonds or calibrated gemstones.

Authentic pieces feature period-correct hallmarks, hand-carved filigree, die-struck mountings, and hand-cut diamonds with distinct facets such as large culets and small table facets. Machine-made reproductions often lack the subtle variations and fine edge detailing found in genuine historical examples.

An Art Deco ring functions as a focal piece when paired with minimal, modern bands or classic platinum chains. Combining intricate period metalwork with modern polished metals creates a balanced, layered fine jewellery aesthetic.

Filigree settings should be cleaned gently using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove debris from pierced openings. Ultrasonic cleaners should be avoided if smaller accent stones are loosely set, and periodic inspection by a professional jeweller is recommended.
