George II Scottish Antique Silver Bullet Teapot, Edinburgh 1742.

Description

A stunningly beautiful Scottish George II antique silver bullet teapot. Made in Edinburgh in 1742 by James Mitchell with the assay master being Edward Lothian. This is to my mind one of the best preserved George II Scottish silver teapots. The engraved decoration is crisp and not over polished, the lid shuts well. The pot sits firmly on the single spreading foot and there are very crisp hallmarks under the base. Overall the teapot is in excellent condition with no damage. A very collectable piece of Scottish silver.
