Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the early 19th century during the reign of the Prince Regent, Regency tables feature classical proportions, fine wood veneers like mahogany or rosewood, and functional features such as drop leaves or small drawers set on pedestal or trestle bases.

Craftsmen typically utilised solid mahogany and flame mahogany veneers, joining framework with hand-cut dovetail joints. Hardware often included brass castors, turned timber knobs, and hand-fitted steel or brass locks.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail construction inside the drawers, irregular wood grain wear, shrinkage marks near glue lines, and natural oxidisation on the underside of timber surfaces.

Place the table beside an armchair or sofa as an occasional surface for lighting, or position it in a hallway corner to balance modern upholstered seating with historic timber tones.

Apply a high-grade beeswax polish annually along the wood grain and dust regularly with a soft dry microfibre cloth. Avoid placement near direct heat sources or direct sunlight to prevent timber movement and finish fading.
