Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating around 1900 to 1910, Edwardian combination wardrobes integrate full-length hanging space, drawers, and small cupboards or mirrors within a single piece of furniture. Designed to maximise storage efficiency, these pieces often feature a mix of contrasting timber veneers and decorative carved panels.

These pieces were typically constructed using solid hardwoods such as walnut, ash, mahogany, or oak, often featuring hand-cut dovetail drawer joints and solid timber backboards. Contrast panels using figured ash or burr walnut were commonly framed by dark walnut mouldings, completed with cast brass handles and bevelled glass mirrors.

Authentic Edwardian wardrobes display specific construction details, including hand-cut dovetailing on drawers, original brass drop handles, and bevelled plate glass. Look for period-accurate design elements such as carved foliate panels, fluted pediments, and contrasting wood veneers indicative of early 20th-century cabinetmaking.

A large wooden wardrobe provides structural weight and functional storage in contemporary or traditional bedrooms. Contrast its rich wood tones against neutral walls, or integrate it alongside contemporary soft furnishings to balance traditional timber textures with modern aesthetics.

Regular dusting with a soft, lint-free cloth maintains the timber finish without scratching the surface. Apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year in the direction of the grain, avoiding silicone-based sprays, and position the piece away from direct heat sources to prevent timber shrinkage or cracking.
