Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian silver flatware refers to items crafted in Britain between 1714 and 1830. Pieces from this era are recognized by hand-hammered sterling silver, elegant symmetry, traditional pattern designs such as Old English or Fiddle, and distinct hallmark stampings.

British Georgian flatware was strictly regulated and crafted from sterling silver, which consists of 92.5% pure silver alloyed with 7.5% copper for durability and strength during use.

Authentic British Georgian silver carries a set of punch marks including the lion passant for sterling quality, a makers mark, a date letter, a town mark (such as the leopards head for London), and a sovereigns duty mark depicting the monarchs head.

Antique silver tablespoons can be integrated into contemporary tablescapes for formal dining or arranged decoratively in velvet-lined display trays, glass-fronted cabinets, and dining room sideboards.

Hand wash antique silver in warm water with mild detergent and dry immediately with a soft cloth to avoid water spots. Regular gentle polishing with a dedicated silver cream removes tarnish, while storage in anti-tarnish cloth bags prevents oxidisation.
