Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco glassware from the 1930s is characterised by bold geometric forms, stepped or faceted profiles, and strong contrasts in colour or texture. Designers of this era often experimented with cased glass and precise lapidary wheel-cutting techniques to create architectural silhouettes.

Cased or overlay glass is produced by fusing two or more layers of different coloured glass together during the blowing process. Artisans then cut through the outer coloured layer using grinding wheels to reveal the clear crystal underneath.

Authentic 1930s pieces typically exhibit heavy lead crystal weight, sharp, precise hand-cut facets, and smooth pontil marks or polished bases. Many authentic European manufacturers also marked their wares with etched signatures or acid stamps on the base.

Place the glass vase on a sleek sideboard, console table, or mantelpiece where natural light can pass through the vessel to highlight the geometric cuts. Grouping it alongside brass accents or monochrome art balances the jewel-toned glass.

Wash lead crystal by hand using warm water and mild dish soap, avoiding abrasive sponges or dishwashers which can cloud or scratch the surface. Dry immediately with a lint-free microfibre cloth to prevent water spots and preserve the brilliance of the glass.
