A fabulous 19th Century polished brass fire screen of exceptional quality, grand proportions and fully restored. The protective wire mesh of rectangular form with serpentine top is set within an intricately detailed fluted and pierced finely cast polished brass frame with gorgeous motifs comprising of trailing foliate, ruffles, flowerhead, spiral twist, beading, acorn finials, c and s-scroll detail throughout. Surmounted with an elegant pierced scroll carrying handle with a further beautiful arrangement decorative Neoclassical motifs comprising of a cornucopia of musical instruments, ribbon bows and swags of foliate. The wire mesh itself is exquisitely adorned with a stunning urn and arrangement of flowers flanked with richly trailing foliate, supported on graceful out-scrolling trestle paw foot with acanthus leaf motif detail.
