Late Georgian decanters, produced roughly between 1780 and 1830, are characterised by heavy lead glass construction, hand-cut geometric patterns such as diamonds and flutes, and distinct neck rings designed to secure a firm grip during pouring.

These vessels were hand-blown using flint glass or lead crystal, which provided clarity and weight. The geometric designs were ground into the surface using wheel-cutting techniques, and stoppers were ground individually to fit each specific bottle neck.

Authentic pieces feature a pontil mark on the base that has been ground smooth, minor variations in hand-cut patterns, wear consistent with age on the underside of the base, and matching ground glass stoppers numbered or fitted to the neck.
