Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George III library table typically dates from the late 18th to early 19th century, featuring structured proportions, solid mahogany construction, frieze drawers, and often a leather-inset writing surface designed for use in private studies and reading rooms.

Georgian furniture makers primarily utilised high-grade West Indian mahogany, prized for its dense grain and rich tone, paired with gold-tooled leather writing tops, hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, and solid brass hardware.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-carved details, hand-dovetailed drawer linings, period-appropriate brass castors, original iron or brass locks, and natural wear or patination consistent with age on the timber and leather inset.

Place the table in a home office or study as a functional desk, pairing it with a tailored contemporary chair, a classic brass task lamp, and curated hardcover books to balance antique character with modern minimalism.

Clean timber surfaces with a soft, lint-free cloth and apply high-quality beeswax sparingly, whilst caring for the leather inset using specialist leather balm to prevent drying and cracking away from direct heat sources.
