1900 - 1920
For Sale by AC Silver
Description

A stunning, fine and impressive antique 2.37 carat diamond, 18 carat yellow gold and platinum set linear cluster ring; part of our diamond jewellery collection.

This stunning, fine and impressive antique diamond cluster ring has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold with a platinum setting.

The pierced decorated mount displays a central pavé set 0.59ct Old European round cut diamond flanked on either side in a linear formation by a slightly smaller Old European cut diamond.

The feature diamonds are surrounded by a paralleling scalloped border embellished with twelve pavé set Old European round cut diamonds, incorporating ten Dutch diamonds, completing the desirable linear cluster design.

The elevated, pierced decorated ring shoulders blend seamlessly with the plain yellow gold ring shank.

This impressive gold diamond cluster ring is hallmarked to the interior of the shank with the maker's mark (R.W.J), the 18ct gold mark (18CT) and the platinum mark (PLAT).

This stunning gold and diamond ring is supplied with an IDGL diamond grading report certificate for the feature stone, in addition to an IDGL diamond grading report card for the supporting stones.

This antique linear diamond cluster ring in gold features an elongated formation that draws the eye gracefully along the finger, creating a flattering and refined profile that feels both classic and distinctive. It is especially well suited to formal occasions, elegant dinners or as a statement piece within a thoughtfully curated antique jewellery collection.

Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.

Condition

This antique diamond ring is excellent quality, set with an impressive feature diamond displaying a fine white colour, brilliance and presence.

The supporting diamonds display a fine white colour and brilliance.

The ring is a superior gauge of gold and platinum and is in excellent condition.

The hallmarks to the interior of the shank are all very clear and indicate the ring has seen little wear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of gold.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this stunning example of Edwardian jewellery.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian diamond cluster rings, produced between 1901 and 1915, are characterized by delicate platinum settings over gold bands, intricate millegrain decorative edging, and multi-stone arrangements designed to showcase old-cut diamonds.

Jewellers of the Edwardian era combined 18ct yellow gold or platinum bands with platinum settings. Platinum allowed craftsmen to create light, lace-like mounts that securely held diamonds and highlighted their brilliance.

Authentic pieces feature period-correct gemstone cuts, such as Old European or cushion cuts, alongside hand-applied millegrain detailing and hallmarking that aligns with early twentieth-century assay standards.

An antique diamond cluster ring can be worn as a statement dress piece on its own or paired with simple contemporary gold bands to contrast historical design with modern minimalism.

Clean the ring using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush, ensuring no harsh chemicals are applied. Store the piece in a fabric-lined box separate from other items to avoid surface scratches.
