Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Neoclassical Victorian silver incorporates classical Greek and Roman decorative elements such as Greek key fretwork borders, beaded edges, pedestal bases, and clean symmetrical forms. Popularised during the mid-nineteenth century, this style drew inspiration from archaeological discoveries and classical antiquity.

High-grade sterling silver (925 parts per thousand) was typically shaped through hand-raising from flat sheet silver, with handles and pedestal bases cast separately and silver-soldered to the main body. Decorative details such as Greek key motifs were chased, engraved, or die-rolled prior to final polishing.

Authentic silver pieces feature stamped hallmarks or makers marks indicating silver purity, city of manufacture, and maker identity. Period pieces show natural wear patterns along high points, hand-joined solder seams, and precise hand-engraved or die-stamped border detailing.

An antique silver sauce boat functions as an accent piece on a sideboard, buffet cabinet, or glass display cabinet. It can also serve as a centerpiece accessory on a formal dining table or held on a tray alongside complementary period tableware.

Sterling silver should be cleaned using a soft cotton cloth and specialized, non-abrasive silver cream to remove tarnish without scratching the surface. Periodic washing in warm water with mild dish soap removes residual polish, followed by thorough drying to prevent water spotting and oxidisation.
